I would only consider Philips at this point because of the Ambilight (Ambilux on the new ones) - it makes it so much better for me. Yes, I know I might sound like 14 year oldbut still ... packed with features with great design.
grabed the lg .. with a sh4 300w sound bar .. 30 mins to setup at home .. cracking pic no backlight bleed ..very happy

The flat version of the js9000 would be the js8000. The 8 series is usually flat, and the 9 curved, but strangely, below this, the flat/curved is 7000/7500
But it looks like it's no longer available, I think it might have been replaced by the ks8000/9000 range.
