Unhappy The Curse of The Amazon Seller

I bought this notebook a month ago while staying in a holiday lodge but unfortunately it stopped booting up after a month while I was comatosed with hypothermia and unable to follow any logical train of thought .While I did improve slightly ( I am still pretty bad )after a month much of my memory ( esp short term ) is gone and I can barely reven emember my own ph no.

I guess I could live with being stuck with another faulty pc bought off amazon ( there are worse things ) but I would rather investigate any options first to see if there' s anything I can do
Do I actually have any leverage here to do anything ( there was a limited warranty )or have I dug my own grave yet again ?

Re: The Curse of The Amazon Seller

I didn't think you bought from Amazon any more!

If it was from a retailer, ie Amazon or a shop selling on Amazon, then yes you are probably covered by the usual Consumer Contracts Regulations type stuff - see your local CAB or forums like money saving expert for help with claiming/getting a repair down this route.

Otherwise, say it was bought secondhand from an individual via marketplace, it's down to whether we can help you fix it! (Or try your local independent computer store - they are probably great to get to know). If you'd like us to help, please answer Peter's questions above

Its a HP but all the serial no's for it and the other I bought of ebay are fake / not working so I sort of gave up on it .

BTW do you still have your Moto ? ( I see they have released 3rd gen for it now ) but made the screen a lot bigger too which I really dont care for so Im contemplating buying the same phone again since my original one broke,

If you mean me and my MotoG2, yes, still got it

To back on topic, you could sell the laptop(s) as broken/for spares if you don't want to get them repaired.

I suppose its better than nothing , but I'm not even sure whats wrong with them to give the buyer a fair description - one boots up and the other doesn't and thats all I got without spending $$$$ to see

P.S. I found this seller on ebay selling them new , though with my ebay woes it might be a bad ides

I think XT1032 is an original Moto G that can't do 4G. The 4th gen moto G just got released, the old Moto G will be on minimal firmware support by now so stuck on Android 5, so that ebay deal doesn't seem that good.

    The new one: http://www.gsmarena.com/moto_g4_plus...eview-1447.php

If you like the size of the old Moto G, take a look in Tesco at the latest Moto E as it is pretty equivalent spec to an old Moto G. I think you lose a few pixels on the screen (I can't really tell) and the front facing selfie camera. Wait a few months and a 3rd gen Moto E will probably be out now that the latest Moto G has already been released.

Agreed with this. Unlike ebay where you are buying from an individual seller and kind of have to accept what you get, Amazon has a lot of consumer regulations in place. I realize this is an old enough post, but did you end up getting back in touch with them and what did they say or do? It's always worth it to ask and see what your options are. Then the next step would be seeing who can look at it and repair it. Last resort would be selling it for parts. This is when having a computer programmer friend comes in very handy
