PC to TV

Hi,
I am,and have been for a long time,been streaming my media files from PC to TV using the Divx Connected box.This system is perfect for my needs in both it's interface,speed and quality but lately it has been struggling to connect to the network.
Due to this,but mainly its age,I wanted a back-up replacement to cover for the eventual death of the box (why Divx stopped making this is beyond me).

Could anyone suggest a system that can :-

a) Access the folders on my PC that I want.
b) List the files on my TV.
c) Accept different formats.
d) Play the files.

My smart TV does have a system to stream files but it has a very limited amount it will store and is somewhat laborious to use.

Plex Id been looking for years for this and Plex does it all for me now

Plex! I've also been using Plex for years now. It rarely fails me if at all. If you have a smart TV then you may be able to find a Plex app for it.

Plex ftw, most smart tv's have the app or a 3rd party equivalent to access the streams too.
Started using it to stream to my phone whilst at work, cost £3 something for a one off activation but worth it.
