Vista x64 drivers for my USB pendrive
I have the 2GB Corsair pendrive/USB stick and when I plug it into mu Vista x64 rigm, it fails to laod it and says it can't find any drivers for it.
I also get the same error with my USB to ATAPI bridge - both of these work/ have worked fine on 32 bit XP SP2 and 32 bit Vista machines. I can't find any drivers, any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Vista x64 drivers for my USB pendrive
Since your devices worked on other machines, I can only fault Vista. And, there are no drivers needed for USB 2.0 support so this is a strange one.
The only thing I can think to try is to go into the bios and try some different USB controller settings. If there is a way to disable the high speed or 2.0 option, try that. What MOBO do you have? |

Re: Vista x64 drivers for my USB pendrive
Thanks for the reply - I tried all sorts of setting s in BIOS and no change but 'tis a wierd one as it woks fine on a vista32bit machine. The machine running vista x64, used to run win XP 32 bit (moved to 64 bit when I upgraded to 4 GB of RAM) and it worked on the same hardware with win XP 32 bit, but not with Vista 64 bit. I can access the information on the stick, if I plug it into another USB device (actually a multi format card reader with a USB slot).
I also have a USB to EIDE/SATA bridge for connecting old hard drives and semi-like my Corsair stick, it worked with the same hardware and 32 bit XP, works on a difference machine with 32 bit Vista, but doesn't work on the hardware now I have 64 bit Vista installed. Ho hum At least I've ruled out the stick, the USB port, and other hardware - must a design feature in Vista x64!!!! |
