    Fan connectors

On the 620HX there is a fan only connector. What is the advantage of using this connector as opposed to the molex connectors?

A similar fan only connector is found on Antec PSU's. The advantage of connecting to this connector is that the fan speed is significantly reduced and regulated by the PSU.

The HX620 seems to run the fan at full speed.

    Re: Fan connectors

That connector is not speed regulated and will provide a full 12v to any fan connected to it. The purpose of the connector is to offer more connection options per modular strand.

    Re: Fan connectors

It would be nice to have rpm monitoring in case of fan failure. I have had several cases where the psu fan has failed killing the psu and dangering other components.
