HX650 PSU fan on or off?

    Hi all,
I wanted to ask if the PSU has no load should the fan be turning on? As mine does.

im guessing he means the system being idle, so basicly just on the desktop, or he means when the computer is turned off.

As far as I know the fan on my HX620 is on all the time.

    Quote below from Corsair HX520W & HX620W Modular power supplies | silentpcreview.com

The 120mm fan responsible for "case airflow" is deliberately run at a steady low level (~6-7V) when the system is run at "low" loads

My HX520w and my HX620w both have their fans on 100% of the time (when the pc is on...)

Can't tell that they're on though, they are soooo damned quiet.

    *insert something whitty here*

    Not really "no load" then.

The fan should be off when the computer is off, and it should be on when the computer is on. Simple as.

What does the Fan on the TX650 do?

I can never hear it, its placed on the bottom of my case (antec 300), does it draw out heat?

Re: HX650 PSU fan on or off?

The fan draws air into the PSU case and exhausts heat out the back.

oh for real, but the psu never feels hot not can i feel any air coming out.

Do you know which way the PSU should be orientated in a case that has the PSU at the bottom?

Mine is upside down with fan facing upwards, as thats the only way it can draw air in

    Thank You

It'll be fine like that. You're not the only person out there with a case where the PSU goes in the bottom of the case
