    Exclamation Corsair CX430 actually 300w!?

I used to have a Corsair 650TX which was a brilliant PSU so without thinking twice I recently ordered a Corsair CX430 for my new build the other day. I read up on it last night and requested an RMA right away (then ordered an Antec Truepower 650w modular from Scan).

This might cause a stir but I think people should be made aware regardless.

    Re: Corsair CX430 actually 300w!?

It's a joke, to be honest.

Personally, I read it as Corsair bringing out some great PSUs, getting a good reputation, and then producing a load of overpriced junk in the hope that nobody will notice. How they thought nobody would notice, I really don't know.

    I can't understand why else they'd be over-rating PSUs.

    Re: Corsair CX430 actually 300w!?

Its supposedly marketed for entry system builders for anything up to light/casual gaming only.

But given the price and component quality compared to the previous CX400 and the cheapest VX/TX brands it doesn't make them the best of buys at all.

    Re: Corsair CX430 actually 300w!?

Why don't they call it a CX300 then?

It's like selling a car as 140hp, then when someone tests it and finds it to be only 80hp, you say "Oh, it's only designed for going to the shops in." It's completely besides the point what its purpose is, it's false advertising.

The information posted in the first post here is grossly inaccurate. If you are going to post information, please at least try to verify that it is accurate before you go spreading it around in the Corsair section to bash us.
