I think you hyped it up wayyyyyy too much.

Its an okay product for real gaming enthusiasts and the slimline watercooler is a moderately interesting idea, but its not subtle in any way shape or form so it is not suitable as a livingroom PC for the wider public. It certainly doesn't impress me with its innovation; at the end of the day its just another SFF PC case that's fits a niche within a small section of a niche market.
Price tag? Well overall its a lot of money to drop but I will admit the bang for buck value is pretty good.

I actually disagree with KBD on the lapdog. I think its daft and hugely expensive. This is basically the 3D glasses of the living room gaming world.

lol. The first thing I thought when I saw the lapdog was, 'awesome, I can play BF4 in bed'. I still love the idea, not sure I would buy it that price, at $89, I don't have a compatible keyboard and think that would drive the price too high and at $199 I think it is too much to pay for even the complete solution.

Also it is a wired unit, meaning I'd have a cable running across my living room/bedroom then when my 2 year old walks through the room the keyboard will get pulled off my lap, uhhh.... no thanks to that, though I still like the idea of playing BF4 on a 50" screen.

    Re: What is Bulldog? #CorsairBulldog

Like others, the case I don't care about, lapdog I really did care about but I feel someone at Corsair thinks way too highly of the brand name.

As we normally get $1 = £1 conversion ratios on hardware being sold over here, that makes your PLASTIC TRAY £100.

To put that in context, you are asking the same money for a plastic tray as you are for your "state of the art" mechanical keyboards.....

The $199 bundle (so £200 over here) wouldn't need so much lube supplied with if it came with the mouse as well (M65+)...even then, you are supplying the cheaper cut-down keyboard with it.

Thank you for the feedback fellas.. To be perfectly honest, you guys have brought up some well-reasoned opinions here, very constructive. And quite frankly, I personally may have to agree on some of the comments above because of the fact that they simply make sense one way or the other. I'll definitely bring those inputs forward to our Bulldog team so we can discuss some of the strong points that you guys have brought up here.

Your guys' feedback is important to us and we appreciate the honesty. Keep them coming

    Glad to help.
KBD, Erudito and I were chatting about this at length last night.
The basic summary from my perspective of the conversation is that when you are sitting in your man-cave in some dingy corner of the house, you can have whatever noisy, gaudish, flashing peripherals and gadgets that you can afford. When its in the lounge, the most important question to most folk is, 'will my Mrs let me get away with this?'
As a generalisation, the answer to that question for both of these products is a resounding no.

Now, I'm actualy not married and live alone, and I still wouldnt have either. The reason why is I believe the future of livingroom gaming will be with something a lot closer to what Valve are working on with their touchpad controller and in home streaming. Subtle, quiet and can be easily tidied away.

    Re: What is Bulldog? #CorsairBulldog

That's an excellent summary Biscuit, thanks, and yes, the child in me wants my man-cave with stacks of gadgets but I feel that Steam Link and a Steam Controller would be infinitely more useful than the alternative of having a larger SFF PC in my living room. My wife likes to browse the net in the living room while watching TV, having a PC connected to the TV will mean it would be one or the other, using an iPad (my iPad!!! lol) means she can do both.

Wife Veto is a big thing in electronic goods. My Antec Fusion shows that the case doesn't even have to be that small, but it does look smaller than it is thanks to a well designed stepped front. The size makes it easier to build into a quiet machine, helped by the well executed thermal zoning. The width and feet underneath make it blend in well with a 430mm wide surround receiver that it has to sit next to. If you want bling, feel free to add a 5" 720p phone display panel to the front with hdmi input and backlight dimmer.

Ah, see I don't have that problem - Mine is far happier being a Gaming Widow, because it means I'm at home and accessible, rather than out away and beyond all contact!

I wasn't a big fan of the original color scheme anyway. I personally like this one better. Red and Black was a little too loud for me to be included in my living room set up.

You're right, this kind of media/gaming solution is not for everyone, but I think that it's a pretty good utility to have one at home
