    pc build prob

Hi Folks Ive just upgraded my pc with a gigabyte motherboard GA-EP31-DS3L and i put 4 gb of corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 but i ran into a few probs when i started it. the system booted up first time done the usual of installing drivers etc. then used it for about 3 hours setting other stuff up then i got the screen of death with this msg PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA so after looking around on the net it seems it may be a memory prob. Im a novice at this pc building stuff and i think ive bought the wrong memory could someone tell me if the memory ive bought is double sided if it is then i dont think i can use 4 gb of double sided ram on this board have i got this right any help would be much appreciated as im starting lose the plot

    Re: double sided ??

Without a part AND revision number, it is impossible to tell. However, you can look at the module and see if it has ICs on both sides of the PCB. If it does, it is a double sides module of 16 ICs, in a "by 8" configuration.

    Re: pc build prob

Please don't double post. I've merged your threads. As noted, I'll need the revision number and complete part number from the sticker on your memory to answer your question.

    Re: pc build prob

hi there sorry about the double post mate

this is the motherboard i have : GIGABYTE GA-EP31-DS3L

Ram : XMS2 CM2X1024-6400C4 X4 (this is the number on the sticker)

here is the issue im having when i first built the pc it booted up with no probs and ran for around four hours then i rebooted the system and just after windows loaded i received the blue screen and this msg ( PAGE-FAULT-IN-NONPAGED-AREA ) so after using google to find out what this prob could be it pointed the finger at ram so i checked that it was all seated properly (removed and replaced it) after that i tried to start it and it wouldn't boot just three beeps so i removed the ram and installed 1 in the first slot and it booted now i have 2 sticks in it but Ive not had time to check the rest,,

so thats about that sorry if i went on abit I'm reading it back and I'm bored myself thanks for help guyz much appreciated cheers

Electrically, your system will see this module as a single sided module or SS. In this case, each "side" of the module is made with 8 x 128mb ICs.

Try testing each module individually with Memtest. Clear your BIOS, set the timings and voltage manually, and run each module for 3-5 passes each.
