    Cooler recomendations? (S1155)

So going to get a 3770k on Monday (or whenever they are released if the 23rd is wrong) and ill be needing a heatsink / fan for it.
Been out of the loop in terms of CPU cooling for a year or so and need advice.
I will be overclocking, hard so need something that can cope with the heat.
Price not to much of a issue, and no I don't want a watercooler so don't even bother with that one

    Cheers in advance.

DH-14 is a good shout, but the Alpenfohn (sp?)K2, Thermalright SilverArrow and Phantek DH-14 copy are all trade blows with the Noctua and in most cases, cost less AFAIK.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Cooler recomendations? (S1155)

I've just recently looked at a lot of CPU cooler reviews as I've just upgraded my system. I was tempted by the CM watercooled range but then read some many bad things about the pumps packing up.

So I went for this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/noctu...2-3-compatible. So many good reviews and performs very well for overclocking. Very east to fit as well.

Other I looked at that got good reviews as well were:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/be-qu...us-am3-754-940

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-026-CM&tool=3

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

That one came when looking, anywhere got a comparison list of most of the main coolers at the moment so I can compare?

    Re: Cooler recomendations? (S1155)

Based on early reports, I would wait.

Overclocked IVB temps have been reported as high due to heat concentration....I wouldn't assume anything about coolers (especially when you use the phrase "I will be overclocking, hard so need something that can cope with the heat") until we see some results.

    Re: Cooler recomendations? (S1155)

Will be cooling a Phenom II X6 1100T.

I bought the HR-02 Macho and fitted into my crappy case last night. It's tight as a gnats foreskin in that bog standard old midi tower case - but it does fit just . First impressions are - WOW.

    A) going from the stock AMD cooler to this is like going from Concorde to an electric bicycle! Aah the peace, the bliss!
    B) even whilst being SOOO much quieter it actually cools much better too!! Double whammy!

I've been experimenting with fan options running my Phenom Stock Speed 3.3 no turbo boost 0.050 under volt (efficiency/eco mentalist mode) and here are the results.

Fanless. No CPU fan and no case fan with only the 140mm fan of the PSU pulling air out of the case. I am amazed this works at all but it does and actually it works quite well! CPU Temps at full load 49 degrees.

CPU Fan. Still no case fan but the supplied 140mm CPU fan blowing through it. This significantly drops temps even with no case fan.
    CPU Temps @ 750rpm 38 degrees full load @ 1350rpm 34 degrees.

Ambient @ 20 degrees PC pulling 150w from the wall.

Overall I am VERY happy with this cooler and I think considering how well it works in my current awful airflow case it will work superbly in the TJ08-E with it’s air penetrator positive air pressure design.
