Scan have an MSI that was listed at £85 but now looks like the price is CALL - not sure if it was a mis-price originally or what. There's a thread about it hereabouts somewhere...
And beaten to it *sigh* ;)

My C3 overclocks like a beast! I settled back at 4.2 but i had it up almost stable upwards of 4.5, the extra time tweaking loads of settings to find the perfectly stable point wasn't worth it when 4.2 only required a small voltage boost to the north bridge and CPU.
I think it's a C2 as it was bought late 2009.
I've been offered a review sample GD-80 for a bargain price on the motherboard hunt front. :vacant:
Are you sure it was a final release candidate and you will definitely be able to get bios updates for it? If so then its probably worth it!
Let me know how it goes. I always want to give MSI a try, but ever since i had a problematic board back in the thunderbird days (i think) i haven't had the balls to risk it.
MSI's website lists a PD capable bios for download and i imagine the yet to be published review will be done on Vishera too.
As for MSI, they're a solid brand IMO. My old P55-GD65 i sold SHare apparently died after two years since purchase, and i noticed someone else on here posted about the same board dying (Englander, maybe?) but another friend of mine has the same board and is still running perfectly fine since 1156 launched (we got ours at the same time).
Their GPU's are solid too.
Looks like we won't be needing a Steamroller Chitchat thread for a while:

That article is actually based on a slide that has been floating around for a while from DonanımHaber.
Original slide

New slide

http://www.behardware.com/news/lire/03-11-2012/
However, there is no date on the new slide. Also, there is no indication of what the mobile products will be too - Trinity launched first for laptops.
Moreover,it has been known that a refreshed Trinity is being released next year anyway,so there is still no clear indication if we will see Kaveri towards the end of the next year.
I was going to suggest there's nothing stopping AMD form re-spinning another Trinity off - lower TDP's and higher-clocks at the same price?
The 'new' side looks like it's referring to 2012 H2, 2013 H1 or close to it; I'd expect to see Llano/Zambezi listed if it were referring to the whole year.
I'm paying less and less attention to SA lately, IMO they've gone from being generally reasonable, but somewhat anti-Nvidia, to fairly strongly anti-Nvidia and anti-AMD. I could speculate why but who knows for sure? Basically, I'll be taking what I read there with a large pinch of salt.
Also, what happened to socket FT2? Was it intended for Krishna/Wichita so they simply skipped over it?
Well Charlie's other recent rumour was that Xbox was going to use an AMD x86 chip, and that yields are beyond horrible:
http://semiaccurate.com/2012/09/04/m...rumors-abound/
Now if that is true, then given that yields for Trinity seem to be fine then that says to me that Microsoft have asked for something else and probably with a monster die size!
AMD seem to have quite a few projects for a company that just fired engineering staff.
Perhaps Richland is a consumer shrink of the Microsoft chip? Who knows, fun to guess :)
Aria have finally got some FX-8's in. £127 for 8320 and £145 for 8350.
Good prices! However,it does seem for some weird reason on many forums, anyone who buys or thinks of buying an FX8300 series seems to be jumped on by Core i5 users.
So price cuts are happening?

Meh.
The A4 3300 has dropped to around £29 on Scan and the A4 5300 to around £37 on Scan.
