According to AMD, the A4 series of APUs does not support dual graphics: you need an A6 at least. See http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations...aphics#desktop

I noticed you've started an identical thread in the Scan Care section of the forums, so I had a quick check on Scan's website. I see they have a graphic on their Richland page which states you can dual graphics the components you've picked up so I'll be interested to see their reply.

As far as troubleshooting goes, the obvious reason you can't choose dual graphics would be if the computer doesn't recognise both the IGP and discrete card, so go into device manager and check you have two GPUs listed. If not, work backwards to check that both GPUs work individually, then start checking through the BIOS for any additional settings that might be disabling one GPU or the other.

Device manager does show both the discrete and the chip based gpu, both the gpu's work on there own i have played with the options in the bios i have built a fair few pc's some with cross fire so i have seen with some more investigation that the A4 might not be able to dual graphics but i did use scans page for the advice,i have a laptop with a A10 and a dedicated GPU run in dual graphics i will phone scan tomorrow and see what they say as the cpu has been installed with the fan it might not come under the distant selling act but they have provided false information on a consumer level.

i think your best of getting a more powerful gpu rather than upgrading a4 to an a6 or a10 to use dual graphics.
you can get some pretty good deals on gtx 750 or 750 ti and r7 260 and 260x.
