    x3430 v x3440

    Hi all,

I currently have a X3430 at 3.8GHz (stable just a little hot!) With 4 cores/4 threads. Cost me £25 so a bargain! I was wondering if getting a X3440 with 4 cores and 8 threads would be worth it for an extra £15-20?

    Cheers!

Depends what do you do with your PC. The extra HT could be worth it in some instances, but I doubt it.

Stick to your current CPU. Or maybe improve your cooling.

Agreed, the only reason I can think of for upgrading is that your current X3430 is not up to the tasks that you are throwing at it and don't forget that getting a CPU with HT will only really make sense if the software you want to use is optimised for Hyper Threading.
