    I7 6700k second hand

Is it worth buying a second hand one for £220, or should I just save to buy a brand new one?

    Re: I7 6700k second hand

£220 for i7 6700K seem like a bargain to me.

Buying second hand depends on if you are buying from a business retailer (like CEX), where you still get a warranty and are protected by a consumer rights or from somebody private "cash on hand" (like from gumtree), where all you have is a sellers promise.

From a personal experience I think it is OK to buy a second hand products as far as there is some sort of protection for you (like on Ebay, Paypal etc).

It's definitely worth it from somewhere like CEX - it will come with a warranty.

Thanks for the reply, I bought it but now the i5 7600k has been released, would that be a better spend of my money?

No. Kaby Lake and Sky Lake are almost identical clock for clock, and you have 8 threads vs the 7600K's 4 threads.

Definitely stick with the i7! It'll handily beat out the newer i5, good old hyperthreading
