CTS - 2006 :: Acousti Products - How to stop that server from ruining your life

Designed to reduce the perceived noise from 19-inch-wide server and rack-mounted equipment (including blade server chassis) with clever design, the patent-pending, self-ventilating cabinet reduces the Sound Power Level (SPL) by up to 90%. It's extremely useful in instances when servers have to be located in rooms where employees work, and the 42U chassis is capable of dissipating 3kWs of heat.

This has got to be expensive. Wouldn't some sort of liquid cooling work better?

Probably, but fitting watercooling into a 1U chassis is going to be more expensive, and nobody would ever want to do it to their server rack.

Couldn't you have one central, say 4U system for all the servers, kind of like whatever system of fans they have inside the case. I would guess the cool temparatures would also extend server life and reliability.

Thats a pretty neat design for a place that has their servers in the room with them. Any idea on how much leccy it draws?
