    Gaming PC on the cheap

    Hey

I'm on the look out to build or buy a gaming PC but on a very tight budget £300

So if anyone out there has any ideas of where to buy or parts to buy to that would be great

    Thanks

Re: Gaming PC on the cheap

And if you have your own monitor, what resolution is it?

You might be able to throw together an integrated system (AMD trinity) that meets your requirements if you don't need to buy to much outside the base unit, but if you need high resolution performance to the point you need a discrete card then your budget is too low for PC gaming. A second hand computer/laptop might be better.

Re: Gaming PC on the cheap

Are you looking at Company of heroes 2??

The OP can get free postage from Scan with 20 relevant posts.

I came up with some builds from Scan. I am not a fan of skimping too much on motherboards,so you could probably go for a very cheap one and improve the specifications elsewhere. BTW,I would probably get the Bitfenix Merc Alpha case too.

The Intel build does have a motherboard with 4 RAM slots, though the AMD motherboard has more SATA3.0 ports.

The AMD build has a faster CPU,and a less powerful GPU,whereas the Intel build has a faster GPU and a slower CPU.

With free postage you are looking at around £300.

Re: Gaming PC on the cheap

For Starcraft I'd prefer the AMD system, a Celeron just isn't going to cut it.

I mean if it was purely for SC2 I'd get an i3 3225 and use the IGP! But it isn't so I wouldn't

What is it with these guys with 20 posts who seem to think it is appropriate to comment on totally dead threads?
