I need a new monitor! Good Service Pref.

I currently have a Dell 2209WA E-IPS that i purchased from PCBuyIT and i have done nothing but recommend Dell for their impeccable "3 Year Zero Defect Warranty".

The issue is in that time i have had to have 3 replacement screens (the last being today) and not a single pixel issue but rather blue/coloured lines vertically down the screen.

As i have only 3 months left on my 3 year warranty it is now time to replace my screen so i am left in a predicament, go for another Dell knowing they have impeccable service but from experience are prown to issues or try a different brand.

I am looking at suggestions of either Dell replacements or other brands but i am unsure if any other company can rival the service offered by Dell and this is a strong selling point for me.

The monitor will be used for Gaming and Movies, i would prefer to move upto 1920x1080/1200 so what are your recommendations?

    Thanks, Yosh

Re: I need a new monitor! Good Service Pref.

well in the past for me most companies have been great.
I've had warranty claims on, viewsonic, lenovo, CTX, even Edge 10 all have been good.
most have done swap out, so they collect the old one and give you a refurb or new one at the same time.
Some monitors or panels can have issues I've found, eg viewsonic vp201, we had it replaced twice in the 3 year warranty, there was a major overheating issue with that model the 2nd time it was replaced with a VP2130, which lacked the hard glass front and usb hub but it's about 4 years ld now and still going strong.

The worst I heard about returns on monitors has actually been samsung, but that was a couple of years ago and I think it was one model again, where there was quite a few people with the same fault but samsung refused to acknowledge any fault and blamed the user.
(I think it was a microswitch power button, but they where just claiming the users where being too heavy handed)

I would check because I think a couple of makes have quietly changed from "on site swap out" to "RTB" warranty.
