Hullo chaps - I need to create desk space... so I was looking to get hold of a clamponthedesk stylee monitor arm. Trouble is, I can't find anywhere to get one that doesn't cost 300 quid
Has anyone got any recommendations as to where to get one??

I have had my 2 Jetmaster monitor arms for a few years now and would not want to do without them (my LG monitors came with some rather flimsy stands).

I have an Allcam GSD110 for mine - Top build quality for about £70 off Amazon.
Personally bought a no-name two mount vertical stand from Cable Mountain ( it has eBay, Amazon and .com stores) a couple of years ago. The service was good and the product hasn't wilted, very sturdy. The Allcam stuff has good reviews on Amazon if you need some brand recognition.
The savings are worth it. The £300+ prices are silly and aimed at businesses who have the money to spend and have mission-critical tasks. The £40-50 items I've seen are very sturdy and competently designed. If needbe spend an extra £10-20 for peace-of-mind but no more.
We got some of these at work.

That's shown with the rather large and heavy foot, but it also comes with a large bolt and giant washer, you'd need to drill a hole through the desk to feed the bolt through.
It is rather chunky and industrial looking (the foot is giant, if you don't bolt it through a desk), not adjustable on the fly like a piston arm but they are very solid units without massive cost.
We've also got one of these ones http://www.amazon.co.uk/PRO-SIGNAL-P.../dp/B007QT5DKA they are rather short but the stand is just a flat sheet of metal with a thin foam bottom, so it doesn't get in the way much as you can easily put things ontop or over it
They also do a clamp monitor arm http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tft-Monitor-.../dp/B008441JIQ bit more money and I've no personal experience with it though

Sorry photobucket links broken
Something like this?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Moni...tor+desk+clamp
but I se several people have pointed you towards Amazon - a `search on monitor desk clamp 9or something like that) pulls up a load of sub £100 monitor desk clamps.
