Odd behavior with dual LG 29EA93-P 29"

    HI

A friend of mine with more money that sense (as usual) managed to acquire a pretty good PC (build it for him for £1200) and over time he accumulated two ofthe above mentioned monitors.

Due to his work he was unable to hook up the second monitor for a while but yesterday he managed to find some time, took him some time (not sure what he was doing) but managed to make the monitors work.

The problem is, that they only work in mirrored mode, can't choose anything else (of if he tries extended, apparently the system freezes) and his maximum allowed resolution is 1920 x 1080 (as opposite of the native screen resolution of 2560 x 1080).

    - both displays are independently connected to a DVI port of the dedicated graphic card
    - the dedicated GPU is a XFX 7850 1GB
    - both DVI ports on ANY HD 7850 should be dual link (thus should be supporting displays of this caliber)
    - AMD Catalyst driver version unknown (not sure how to ask him, maybe with GPU-Z)

Any ideas, aside from changing drivers, what could be the root of the problem (simply to be able to operate both screens in extended mode and in full native resolution).

EDIT: the driver version is confirmed to 9.12.0.0 which is Catalyst 13.1 (I think) and after a quick browsing I couldn't really find a reference to a similar problem being corrected in later versions. Any ideas?

    EDIT: Anybody? Fellas?

All sorted out. The drivers were too old.
