Odd question perhaps, but let me explain the background:
A few years back my 26" LCD TV got nicked, and I replaced it with a 24" monitor (as I never watch TV, only DVDs/online through an HTPC). When we moved houe recently, the 24" monitor looks kinda small in the new living room, so I was thinking about upgrading. But it seems that while 27" 1080p monitors still start at around £150, 32" monitors are more than twice as expensive at best. 32" 1080p TVs, on the other hand, can be had for less than £250 - but then I'd be back into the messy business of arguing with TV Licensing and I'd be paying for a TV tuner that I just don't want.
So, if 32" TVs can be made for £230, why can't 32" monitors be made for a similar, or lower, price? They're the same size, use the same amount of materials, have less electronics ... I can imagine they wouldn't be as common, so market forces might not allow for many, but surely there must be a market for one or two 32" monitors in the budget end of the spectrum?
