    Cable adapter question

    Hi all,

I'm considering replacing my ageing system with an Intel NUC

This comes with mini DisplayPort (1.2) and mini HDMI (1.4a) ports

I currently have 2 displays connected which I will upgrade at a later date. They are quite old though, one is DVI, one is VGA.

So, what is the best combination of adapters to get?

mini DisplayPort -> VGA + mini HDMI -> DVI

    or

mini DisplayPort -> DVI + mini HDMI -> VGA

    TIA

    Shevek

    Re: Cable adapter question

I would say the second one, [mini DisplayPort -> DVI + mini HDMI -> VGA], that way later when you upgrade your display(s) you will have two digital outputs instead of an analogue and an digital. And I assume that you will upgrade your screen with the analogue output only first.

Yes, I would definitely replace the VGA one first.

Then yes, I would say, go for the [mini DisplayPort -> DVI + mini HDMI -> VGA] option. That way you will have the digital flexibility into the future. And you are welcome.
