    Upgrade from Dell U2405

    Hi All,

I was wondering if there was anyone here who has moved from a Dell U2405 to a Dell U2412M?

My 2405 is obviously rather old now, and tbh the whites have taken on a bit of a yellow tinge which being colourblind i struggle to adjust, and using a Spyder4 Express ended in disaster ( a story for another time)

So I'm looking probably to buy a dell U2412M as I like the 1920 X 1200 resolution over the 1920 X 1080 monitors, and it gets good reviews.

I mainly game, including FPS's and have begun to notice that my 2405 is really quite blury when panning the camara in game as well, whether thats degradation over time or I've got more picky I don't know.

So my question is, is the 8ms G2G of the 2412M noticibly better than the 12ms (not G2g?) that my 2405 has? Does it reduce the ghosting?

Or do I really need to get a 120/144Hz like the Asus VG248QE and move to 1080p? I've got 2 x GTX560's so I don't know if they would manage the 144FPS in modern games as games like BF4 seem to run around 80FPS. Would 80FPS on a 144Hz monitor still look better than on a 60Hz monitor?

    All thoughts welcome.
    Cam

Calibrating with the Spyder4Express is a struggle if your ambient light condition should be considered. I have a Spyder4Pro because they recommended me that in a forum, given that the Spyder4Express hasn't got an ambient light sensor. Your contrast is only calibrated correctly considering your ambient light.

Well the difference won't be big, indeed it's better, in terms of faster, but not sure if that is the matter in your case. What about the graphic board you have? What kind of? Latest driver?
