    Odd resolution issue

So i recently bought a brand new 23inch 1080p monitor for my pc, to replace the (very old) 5:4 one.
When the PC boots up the windows logo and start screen occupy the whole screen and it looks very nice indeed, but the second you get into windows and indeed any aplication that is running at 1080p it appears as a window with back bars on all sides, however when put into lower resolutions it near enough fills the screen. any ideas on how to get the 1080p to be full screen

I solved such issues using the appropriate configuration INF file (usually paired with ICM color profile file) which tells monitor's parameters to the system for correct operations
The last one was - Philips Brilliance 231PQRY

    Re: Odd resolution issue

Ahhhhh, Problem resolved (I think) basically AMD catalyst had automatically enabled a 10% under scan to the monitor, hence as soon as the driver loaded it became incorrect. Not sure why it does this by default, but it is now sorted!
