seriously.
how bloody difficult is folding on windows? you guys have the patience of saints.
fresh vista x64 install on wife's new monster pc. passworded user account. every .NET framework anyone could want installed (i've seen some reports saying 1.1 is needed, some say 2.0). fah smp client installed into pre-created folder in user-controlled area with full permissions. install.bat run as administrator
and it still doesn't ****ing work right. i saw it actually do some crunching ONCE (and bloody slowly compared to linux) - one reboot later, and it sits on "working" without using any cpu time.
honestly, how do you cope? here's the linux procedure: 1) unzip fah somewhere 2) run "./fah6 -smp" in that folder. that's it.
good lord, i never thought with 14 years' windows experience i'd actually give up on something that's pissing easy on linux
