    I fold (SMP) on an i5 750, at 3.3 with stock voltages now, and on a GTX560.

    With just the SMP running, the machine draws 175w from the wall, with approx 10000ppd.
    The 560 pulls 210w for 14000ppd. The CPU is approx 57ppd/perwatt and the GPU is approx 66ppd/pw.
    Both together use 240w, and do 22000ppd, which is 99ppdpw

    All the GPU WUs are roughly the same, ppd wise, but the SMP ones vary from the nice 500.000 WUs, to the 2M WU, and even the scary 4M WUs, which can drastically reduce PPD.

    I run both, as I seem to be addicted to the points system, and even if I stop the GPU, the machine draws 240w, so may as well do something useful with it.

    EDIT: Currently running a 2M WU at 6000ppd, and GPU at 13000ppd. this puts the ppdpw at
    i5 750 =34.28
    560 = 61.9
    Total = 77.

    I will confirm the numbers for GPU only power draw when this smp unit is complete. I have a habit of corrupting them if I stop them midflow. ETA is 1am

    This is what i was thinking.
    Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
    CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
    TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
    for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

    We do. Sounds strange but companies run alot of background software.

    For example, we run

    Antivirus
    Host Intrusion protection
    Antispyware
    Data Loss Prevention
    Endpoint Encryption for the hard drive
    Endpoint Encryption for Folders and USB.
    Centennial Audit Software

    Each PC is scanned fully once a day for virus's and 'Unwanted' software so there is a need for a decent processor to do all that, without the user being impacted while they work.

    Just a shame I cant roll out the folding client across all those machines - I think someone might noticed but 970 machines would certainly add to the total.

    According to FahWiki, it happens mostly when you have a too large overclock. Is yours overclocked?
