Why don't we do a post pics of your folding rig thread as well? V impressed that I got up to 6kppd projected (i don't fold 24/7) immediately with no tweaking needed!

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

I'm doing 15k ppd on a semi-dedicated SMP i7 920 @ 3.6GHz, rarely I get an A3 bigadv unit which would take around 3 days to complete but gives 60,000 points. Hence the big point spikes on the F@H stats graphs.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Ah well, all this sudden activity by nibbler et al has spurred me on to get registered, so my dev server is now churning through an SMP WU. Plus side is the server is on 24/7 anyway, so there shouldn't be any interruptions beyond an occasional reboot for windows updates. Downside, it's "only" a 2.5GHz Opteron Quad (effectively a Phenom II) - be interesting to see what it pushes out...

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

lol - I've been meaning to fold for ages but the huge bump it'll give my electricity bills always puts me off. I'm sure work won't mind a server that's on 24/7 using a few spare CPU cycles to fold though

I've got 1% through a 500K step WU in 7m:40s - does that sound reasonable?

Yeh, without the bonus I'd be at 2.5k ppd.

So can you explain bonus points then? It's an ongoing system every 10 WUs? Did they bring this in because SMP units are more valuable to them?

Before bonus points are awarded you must complete 10 bonus WUs and return at least 80% of the work units you receive. Bonus points are awarded per WU based on the particular WU you return and the time taken to complete it. Generally the larger the WU and the less time it takes to complete; the more points you get.

I suppose the bonus scheme is to encourage faster returns of work units, especially SMP WUs which are some what bigger than any other WUs from other clients.

just got my first 60k pts for finishing an a3¬ Check out my score now! You'd hardly believe this coming out of a guy who's "toy room" has only 1 completed working pc and a newly killed R2E mobo. Bent the pins on the CPU plate and now 2 have snapped off. Wonder if I can get it fixed anywhere? Anyone?

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Please, for the love of christ someone upload a step by step guide to the SMP client. Enter details as per F@H guide, i get the wrong work core and it doesn't use 100% of the CPU. Don't enter details i get the wrong work core but it does use 100% of CPU.

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Yeah well that's just a kind of WU I think. I had one which only used 30% cpu load once.
