Wow. The name sucks, but it sounds like great fun. The motion sensitive nunchuck really seems like it adds something so you can gesture with both hands.

It is fun, real fun. I can't wait to get one - I will pre-order with Game as soon as they are up for it

    Without doubt....

Remember - look at it like this - a GameCube with a better interface, more usability - don't expect 360 or PS3 graphics - expect fun

I'll be going on the pre order list too. Looks like a great little box. I'm assuming you can use the USB2 slots for added storage space. Maybe even a small HDD addon in the future...

Yep, apparently so. There's only 512meg of flash memory on-board, so I would expect to see support for USB drives or even a proprietary dive in the future.

Good to hear. 512Mb will get used up fairly quickly with N64 ROMs, game saves and added content I would think.

Another question... does Wii have an Ethernet port?

If I wasn't sold already, I am now.

Even the name has really grown on me. Add me to that list for pre-orders!

I have far too much spare time on my hands. I just did a little re-write of American Pie. Let me know what you think

    A long, long time ago...
    I can still remember
How Nintendo used to make me smile.
And I knew if Wii had a chance
That Wii could make those people dance
And, maybe, Wii’d be happy for a while.

    But Playstation made me shiver
    With every pricetag they’d deliver.
    Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

    I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about Sony's suicide,
But something touched me deep inside
The day that next gen died.

    So bye-bye, Mr Katuragi,
Though your Blu Ray does sound heavy,
It's just too much for me.
And them good old boys were playin' Metroid on Wii,
Singin’, "Wii'll be the one that I buy.
"Wii'll be the one that I buy."

Even Don MacLean would be proud!

If there's enough demand, I may even have an attempt at a second verse hehe

That description of using the controller sounds like it really adds to the gaming, rather than the gimmick I first though it tould be (and will likely be better than Sony's motion sensing I think, due to the shape of the controller if nothing else, though maybe not in driving games)

Now very tempted to get one when it comes out when would never have really considered it before!

(also anyone remember the Microsoft Sidewinder freestyle pads?)

Wow, wii now sounds fun. I've been wanting to go back and play the Zelda series for ages now, but have yet to buy an N64 and the games, heh, might just buy this and download it - would they be free, or very cheap? Would be interesting to see how its Internet features work, accounts I guess/hope.

One other thing - on the controller, what are the holes on the remote for? They look like something a GameBoy would have for speaker holes.. o.O

[Edit:] And I still have one of those Sidewinder pads Elessar . Ah, nevermind about the holes, just read the Zelda review thing, heh, interesting feature.

£150 @ launch for the Wii?
$600 @ launch for the ps3? (Which we know will translate to £450 - not the £316 that xe.com tells us!)

So where do I sign up for my Wii? I will have a black one thanks!

I'm kinda hoping they'll do a 'Nintendo Bundle' which would consist of the Wii and the DS Lite.

I'm definately getting the Wii, and I figure I may aswell get the DS Lite to go with it.

I wonder come Christmas time what the total cost of a 360, Wii and DS Lite would come too? It could be around the same as the PS3.

It is a speaker apparently. Have a search on google for the E3 Wii video. It appears to 'ping' when Mario grabs a coin for example
