    E3 - 2006 : REPORT :: Crysis

    Crytek, the guys behind the surprise hit Far Cry, are working on Crysis, their new first person shooter and we have to say that this looks just bloody amazing.

    But don't take our word for it, check it out in this E3 2006 Report.

    Well, thats gonna be a new system for me then. The world interaction sounds so much fun!

    Was planning on upgrading around Christmas anyway (hopefully most of the next round of stuff will be out/nearly out by then).

    Dx10 coded? I wonder how will current gfx card coupe with this kind of detail.. I'll probably have to run it on 800x600 with no AA no AF using an X1800XT..

    But it does look tasty..

    Dual Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.66Ghz, 16GB FB-DIMM, FireGL goodness...

    Corr... whats the minimum spec for that then ?

    FX-62 with 4 Gib RAM and a Geforce 9900 GTX XXX souped up edition.

    I would if it's great at scaling as well so people who think that their 9800pro they bought for 200+ pounds 2 years ago is still "HIGH END" can play it.

    A PhysX card won't do you any good, The CryENGINE 2 has a proprietary physics engine built in.

    I don't have the specs of the system they were running on but iirc, it wasn't an uber-uber-machine.

    In fact, I *think* it was a single 7900 running the show.

    Don't forget, Crytek pulled off some fantastic visuals with Far Cry that ran superbly on a 9800XT, so I would very much think that they've optimised CryENGINE 2.

    So this wasn't DirectX10 then?

    Impressive. Wonder how MS will peddle that if this can be achieved with DX9...

    That game was on a psm2 dvd, so I presume they plan a release for the ps3. Might be cheaper to get a ps3 rather than a new pc to run that?

    Looks sweet though
