    E3 – 2006 : REPORT :: F.E.A.R. – Xbox 360

    F.E.A.R. is coming to the XBox 360 and I have to say it does look rather tasty.

    I'm still crap with a joypad in first person shooters though... as this E3 2006 Report will tell you.

    The texture quality seems to be lowered in the X360 screenies..

    I remmeber FEAR PC looked much sharper, at least on the texture side of things.. check out the players sleeves (when holding the weapon), in the PC version you actually see the cloth cuttings clearly.. So is the badges and kevlars on the enemies.. Its like they're running on low quality textures just to keep it running over 60fps..

    Dual Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.66Ghz, 16GB FB-DIMM, FireGL goodness...

    Maybe, but Microsoft only stipulate a minimum framerate of 30 fps for Xbox 360 games.

    It's still in development, so it could be that texturing isn't finalised yet.

    I'll speak to Vivendi on Monday and try and find out.

    Hope so, it'll be rather silly if it turns out inferior..

    Res wise, its ok as HD doesnt output that high.. but texture should be at least on par with the PC

    I would expect that the graphices would at least be on par with the version, I would hope so too, the details really are great, and I think its one of the best FPS games of all time. I can imagine it being a bit difficult on the 360 Joypad, but I dont own one, so im not going to be used to it. If this turns out to be decent, it could be one of a few games that are coming out soon to persuade me to get a 360.

    Yeah I noticed that too. Doesn't look quite as good as on the PC. How comes 360 screenshots always seem to have more jaggies than PC?? Is it case the screens are designed to be seen from further away??

    I think 360 games are 4xAA and pc games of course can go much higher so that coule be why.

    It would be nice if the 360 version could match up to the pc with the textures but i would rather see 60fps if its a choice between eyecandy and framerate.
