Hi Folks,
I currently have a dual boot system with Vista and XP on the same hard drive. I have just purchased a new drive and am thinking of putting W7 64 bit on this new drive, can I just install the drive and then install W7 on to it? Once W7 is installed will I have to use Easybcd to create a bootloader or will W7 give me the option to boot the other systems? I would like to play around with W7 before removing Vista, but will probably keep XP on for a while.
Thanks in advance

Apart from my daughters PC which is playing up now I find my laptop has some infection. When I boot up I get the first screen saying System Configuration Data Read Error F1 to resume F2 to setup

Upon typing F1 it starts to boot I get to the desktop screen which then leaves the icons on but goes to a black background, replacing the original picture.I then get a screen pop up saying Security Tool system scan list umpteem infections.
Given choice of remove threats, it then wants money to do it, or carry on unprotected.
If I click the latter it then says in a little window at the bottom right that whatever I try to access

XXXXX.exe is infected with worm Lsas.Blaster.Keyloger

I cannot run AVG as it then says avgui.exe is ......................... Lsas. Blaster. Keyloger

Everything I try to run gives the same sort of error.

If I click the Windows security shield I get a blue screen, listing infections and back to the scenario of paying for removal, instead of the usual screen listing firewall etc etc.

How can I run a diagnostic on it if I cannot get one to load?

Thanks

Actually comes in 32bit and 64bit flavours for a change. Will be good not to have the several hundred meg of updates to download and install on a clean system to compliment a fresh windows 7 install :)

I've been lumbered with fixing it. Problem is it does continous reboots. gets to start loading window XP then get a blue secreen for an instant that mentions something about an unmountable boot disk. It will then reboot. What i find odd is that after each reboot the clock loses one hour without fail. Nothing else in the bios setup alters just the hour figure. Minutes and seconds are fine. Tried safe mode etc all the same just reboots.
The unmountable bit throws me as it does start to boot and never seen the hour thing before.
All ideas gratefully received.
Thanks
