Apparently dead flash voyager
I have a 1gig flash voyager that went from working as i copied files onto it to being dead as a duck when inserted in another. Even more weird is that if I insert it now in a new PC the 'installing drivers' bit runs and reports it's installed "PROLIFIC FLASH USB DEVICE" - I don't think i've seen that one before. Windows then asks me if I want to format the drive as it's not formatted (!) - trying to do so fails. Bit annoying as i had things on there I didn't really want to disappear
![]() Anything else I can try? If not, can I send this back to corsair directly for a replacement? I'm in the UK btw. Many thanks ![]() |

I have seen a couple of people recover from some odd failures by either doing a DOS level format or using a data recovery tool from within Windows to recover the partition then reformat. I don't know what tool they used specifically but, Google is your friend. You may also want to have a look at the JACK FLASH link at our home forum.
If this fails, we will gladly get your drive replaced. You can use the CORSAIR TSX TECH SUPPORT EXPRESS system to start your RMA. |
