Re: Revised version of Manhunt 2 rejected by BBFC
I don't even want this game but.. it's rather pathetic this whole banning business isn't it? Can't I just order it on 'net from anywhere in Europe anyway?

Re: Revised version of Manhunt 2 rejected by BBFC
I think it's for the best, the BBFC have been very tolerant of some video games so far and for them to ban manhunt 2 says to me that it really pushes some boundaries a bit too far.
Maybe it's time for Rockstar to make something a bit different. They excelled with table tennis so they are an innovative bunch, yet they continue to line up games designed to push the limit. |

Re: Revised version of Manhunt 2 rejected by BBFC
If i'm over 18 i can watch a gorey horror film but not play manhunt 2? Censorship for the young (and impressionable) is one thing but someone decided for me (as an adult) that I can't play this game. I don't want to but..

Re: Revised version of Manhunt 2 rejected by BBFC
Not really. If you're over 18 you can play a gorey video game too.
Some films go beyond that and fail to get 18 classification, so why should it be different for computer games? |

Check out this: http://www.melonfarmers.co.uk/rejfilms.htm Censorship is an emotive issue - no doubt - but I do generally believe that material ought to be self-censored for adults so long as noone has been directly harmed by the film (in the literally proven sense) in any way. The fact that games are treated differently is because a: the misconception that most games are bought by children (they're not) and b: because (yet again) parents don't want to take any responsibility for censoring material for their own children. Better to rely on nanny state eh? I'm an adult, I like games. Let me choose - thanks. Lord knows what they'll make of Soldier of Fortune 3 - a game I do want - it's not really any different from SOF2 but.. it's 2007 and we're all so darn PC now.
