It was inevitable that someone would get onto something like this, only a matter of time. Why not though the Trek universe is as big as Star Wars if not bigger and the Star Wars MMO is still really popular now.

Be really cool if they can pull it off, instantly makes me think of Mass Effect but with a bit more scope with regards to the ship. Planet sections can be done in 1st or 3rd person, either way will work. From the shots it looks like they are putting a lot of work into the planetary sections, hopefully they will be fully utilised and not just flybys to the nearest spaceport with no exploration.

I want to be a Klingon

Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it

as long as it doesn't end up looking like 'the void' in voyager, then it should do well..

who wants to go to Rysa?

are the Borg in it? I might want to customise the ship a bit with 'salvaged' Borg components and go around assimilating everyone who proves to be futile.

Heard that it died a while ago, so I'm glad it's been picked up again. Out of all the genres that ST has done, MMO would seem to be most appropriate. Reading the very brief account of it, I am imagining Pirates of the Burning Sea type stuff (ship combat, transferring to 3rd person for ship boarding and planet stuff). My only concern is developing it for the console as well and how it will impact it vs being purely for PC.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt; then it's bloody hilarious!
