Great, more ammunition for the game illiterate.

I shall now go off and take steroids, have roid rage, and then tell any Polish man I see to still sports cars, killing the owners if necessary.

    Bravo Kid. Bravo.

Re: Headlines - Murder leads to GTA IV ban in Thailand

I think we can all agree that what the situation really needs is a knee-jerk reaction from someone who doesn't really understand the situation.

'"Today it is a cab driver, but tomorrow it could be a video game shop owners," said Thangsupachai.'

Yay! Go Thangsupachai! You know nothing but you say words about it! You rule!

Why does anyone over the age of 30 treat video games like a secret devil worshipping cult? So some nutter with the emotional development of a toddler and the IQ of a Dugong murdered a taxi driver and blamed it on GTAIV.

You lock him away. You don't ban the game he has mentioned as if its some sort of time bomb. As if 99.99% of peeps can't seperate reality from a game.

Do you ban Rambo films everytime someone gets shot? Take the F1 off the TV everytime a speeding car crashes?

Stop being ignorant, knee jerk, overly dramatic twats.

Does no-one else find the phrase "Cultural Surveillance Centre" more worrying than make believe violence then?

Maybe it's just the English but that does read like Cab drivers < Video game shop owners.

I hate the way they always blame video games. Were there no crimes/murders before video games. If someone goes out and does something like that they are already messed up in the head enough that they would have gone and done it anyway. I dont see people banning 18 rated films so readily.

At this rate you wont just have to prove your age upon purchasing a game you'll have to have a psyciatric assesment to make sure your mentaly stable enough to know the difference between fiction and reality.

Vlad The Impailer was inspired by the spikes in Green Hill zone on Sonic The Hedgehog.

    Erm... good.

All you need to do now is learn not to take everything 100% literally.

I know you can do it, I have faith in you.

Hang on, I'm 35 and I've been playing video games for yonks. No cultist practices going on around here. Now excuse me whilst I go polish my altar

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

Jokes. Yet another example of how a single person can ruin things for millions of others.

Sounds to me like the problem is more due to this guy being seriously mentally ill, having little grip on reality. I'd have thought his parents + the social system was more to blame. He shouldn't have been allowed to play the game in the first place if he has such a fragile grip on both morality and the consequence of his actions.

I could change it to 'over 40' if you like? Maybe over 30 was more back in the 80s-90s before Sony made games cool and 30 somethings could play them without dieing of shame.

Please tell me this isn't serious, and that the legal system in Thailand isn't actually as gullible as to BELIEVE someone that is obviously out of his mind for even CONSIDERING that a GAME could be reponsible for a stabbing...

I think they're making an big issue out of this because it was the murderer who told them he believes it was the game that made him do it. There stupid for believing it, he was obviously an unhinged individual.
