This is a real isue with people with a low MTU, be that users or providers.

I think black hole routers could be totaly cut out if ISPs just did a few tests ever day to blacklisted them. Most Black Hole Routes are just ISPs etc who have setup their firewall wrong or are a little too worried about DoS attacks. Its a real pain at times though.

Super graphic of "Old Bob" incorporating the router in the headline page. You might also like to add one involving Gremlins as they are widely known to be the source of such router/server problems.

The real question is: when are we going to see a 21st century "Black hole" game involving Maximilian, V.I.N.C.E.N.T and those cool twin laser guns? Provided of course that the Gremlins don't spoil the online experience.

Save yourself hassle. Download the FULL SP3 and apply it instead. Grab the one that the IT guys use.

I've heard ppl have had issues with using the "lite" installer that MS is using from WU. Certainly everyone who updated using the full installer avoided the annoying issues that accompanied the inital push from MS.

Plus you can then slipstream SP3 into your XP cd and just reinstall from that instead of a unprotected XP CD. Its worth the hassle.
