Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Not too surprised that Sony outdid Microsoft. Microsoft got into the game 8 years after Sony. What I found more surprising is Nintendo's standing in the poll: only the SNES did well even though the GB, DS and Wii are some of the most successful consoles (granted the Wii still pale next to the PS2 which only did marginally better in the poll). I suppose that despite sales indicating otherwise, most people would not pick a portable console as their favourite.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Yay, the Master System didn't do too badly. I don't know why I voted for it, I just have a few fond memories of playing Sonic and some James Bond game. Sadly teh Master System (2) is long gone now.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Surprised to see PS3 so high... For me it was the PSONE, nothing like playing Spyro and some of the other fantastic titles.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results I would have to agree, the survey would be much more interesting with the current gen excluded. For me the best would have to be the N64, though I really like the NES and SNES in a classic way. It seems like Nintendo's strategy of making the most fun consoles as opposed to the most powerful really makes classics since fun is always fun, but powerful becomes slow.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Having the current gen makes it a bit worse because ps3 has blu-ray(so hd-film) but not as many great games as the 360 but it lacks hd film drive, so what one would be the best? from experience id say the xbox 1 is the best just because it can survive pretty much anything including being thrown down stairs, also had best graphics/dvd drive/hard drive in its time . Didnt really have many consoles tbh, i had the commodore and then the ps1 then gameboy advance and then the xbox finally 360(sold) and now a pure gaming pc, must say i did have the pc around during these times and it blew it all out because of alien vs predator 2 (scared the **** out of me, was like 8 )

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results I did say when you started the poll that almost everyone will just vote for the console they own now... and they did. Great work chaps, I knew you'd be predictably crap.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results What if, alot of the people voting didn't actually have an older console? Of the gamecube, ps2, dreamcast, wii, xbox and xbox 360 (ie the newer consoles I've played) I would say the xbox 360 is my favourite too.

Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Over the years I've had lots of consoles. Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, SNES, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, N64, GameCube, Wii, PS3. And I have to say I think the best console is the SNES.

| Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results I can't take this poll seriously - there's no entry from the Amiga CD32. Obviously another case of anti-amigaism by hexus. | Re: News - Favourite console of all-time poll: The results Where's the panasonic 3DO on that list ? I whittled away many hours playing Gex and various other games on it which resorted to my SNES getting put on the shelf of doom and hardly being used again. ---- Why do Computer Scientists get Halloween and Christmas mixed up? Because Oct. 31 = Dec. 25. |
