Battlefield 2 Tweak Guide

I've only just grabbed the demo and am bored of it already. The sad thing is I've not even got as far as playing... I'm still trying to get it to load and get the video modes setup. I'm not impressed by the bugginess. Anyway, if you're patient enough, but still require some guidance, then TweakGuides have a guide to BF2.

I've prepared this short guide as a quick way of putting together all the known tips and tweaks for getting the BF2 Demo up and running with a minimum of fuss. I will then update the guide in the next few days as I discover more tweaks, culminating in a complete Battlefield 2 Tweak Guide shortly after the full version of the game is released at the end of June.

One annoying feature I've found so far is I can't bind any of the numeric "arrow" keys, it just complains of a "Duplicate control in common controls". I've even removed ALL of the bindings in common controls then tried to add it, and got the same message. Buggy UI!

Ack. Not sure if I have tried that or not.

I can bind some of the numpad keys which leads me to suspect that it (numlock) is working, it just wont let me bind 8, 4, 6 or 2 - the traditional arrow keys.

Unfortunately for me, the numpad is my default FPS movement config.

you are not the only one with that problem. The game doesnt differentiate between arrows and the KP arrows. Also, you cant rebind the End Key (really annoying) since its used by the console - despite the fact the ~ key is also for the console.

Just thought I'd mention that sticking the key in manually in my controls.con file meant I could use Numpad 2, whereas I can't even set that key in the in-game UI.
