I agree, that's an awesome machine, I wish it was mine

To be fair though, it is pretty much what's being sold nowadays, I guess..

(I'm long overdue an upgrade )

    Grey M@a's system
Hehe I would say the majority of people will have 9800pro's or 6800gt's with a gig of memory and one of the newer CPU's (There are still quite a few P4 users sitting on the older northwoods due to the prescott being a dud).

To be honest Nick that is a good modern day test bed, have you thought of running the games without the SLi to so people without could see what to expect as the price of a dual 6800GT system is still pricey for cards

    But presumably have no manners?

Captain Pluto, by all means raise objections or concerns, as others have done before you, though far less aggressively.

Apologies, I guess that wind rushing past me followed by a splat was a sign that I had perhaps gone over the edge of good taste.

    No offense intended

The funny thing is unless i'm being blind you can't buy the FX53 from scan any more anyway?, and I would have to say i'd prefer to see non SLI reviews too with a O/C 3000 Venice to ~4000 speeds if we really where going to have a view of a real world system.

But then again, the review of the game should for the most part be completely seperated from the hardware. The graphics and performance of the game is and should be only part of the story. The games playability, difficulty, lastability, multiplayer, sounds are not part of the test rig.

So while it might be worthwhile standardising the rig, its only going to matter for those games that are that demanding that they actually require the sheer power to run them....

Wow first of all thats pretty rude, you have all the right to question what has been posted and view your opinion BUT where did anyone give you the right to come along to a forum full of well mannered and polite people (yea the odd crazy guy aswell) on your high horse and come out with smare a*** remarks like that?

and.. FYI check out Ebay for the CPU... My mate won the exact same CPU.. for £190, pretty reasonable for a CPU id say...

    ...... venting over

Again, I can see how my comment might have caused offense, im just the new guy here trying to fit in by making bad jokes. Didnt realise everyone here was so sensitive.

I will leave my crude humour at the door on my visits and be polite and curtious.
