The BBC to have a crack at a video game show

On November 4th 2005, the BBC enters the videogame show market for the first time since the days of the Acorn Electron with videoGaiden. Featuring the talents of the chaps behind the online hit Consolevania, videoGaiden is set to revolutionise the way that videogames are portrayed on television.

Didn't the BBC have a show already, can't remember the name, but it used a pre release version of the Total War engine?

I guess it's not the same thing though is it, as that wasn't a videogame show, just a show that used a game engine.

Game shows have always been dodgy on TV, not sure if I'd waste my time with this. I kept on meaning to watch to Dominik Diamond show on Bravo but always missed it, heard it was pretty good, if a little random..

    Arghhhh

As long as it doesn't have Dominik Diamond or Patrick Moore it might be watchable.

Personally I hate game shows that seem to target the sub teen market.. they just don't work. More preferable are the Film 2005 type reviews with Jonathon Ross which are presented in a much more mature and watchable manner.

And so long as they keep Fred Harris - and that bloke with the glasses - out of it

Hopefully this will be better than 'Game One' on TMF!

Gamer-TV on bravo (the one with out dominic diamond) i think its pretty good. Just videogame and expo footage with the game information spoken over the top. Pretty simple but i think its done quite well and i dont think its done in a childish way.

Sorry about the thread revival, but the Beeb have just released this:

videoGaiden, BBC2 Scotland's videogaming show is going online. The audience feedback, and the fact that it appears that the show is available for download ten minutes after broadcasting, have led us to give it a broadband player in addition to its Scotland-only TV slot. All of the episodes will remain on the below site for duration of the run, though viewing is limited to the UK.
    Check it out athttp://www.bbc.co.uk/videogaiden

I remember Bad Influence. I also remember Games World on Sky one. Is Gamesville still going? That sucked.

Gamesville: possibly the worst television program ever to come out attempting to relate gaming to the masses, featured small children playing mario and getting confused by games that required a keyboard to play. Set the industry back at least a decade.
