Xbox 360 HD-DVD in the shops

It's out there now, if any of you lucky people have a HDTV to go with it.

Check out the Press Release for more info.

Steven, do you know of any shops which have stock? None of the local PC World's seem to have any left.

If only Marks & Spencers would sell them, I've got £50 worth of vouchers.

You mean 'real' shops or online?

Real shops preferably, I think the online price and high street price is the same for this one. Seems to be £129.99 everywhere.

Interesting, HMV have just told me that they think the release date has been pushed back (rubbish) or that they haven't been able to get all of the stock allocations out today.

They've had an internal memo from Microsoft saying that they won't be receiving stock today.

    Woolworths - no stock received

    PC World - Axletree Way, Wednesbury, WS10 9QY - 0870 242 0444 (3 units in stock! GO GO GO!)

Mine is awaiting stock also. So long as it gets here by crimbo then it's fine. When did you order yours anyway?

Yeah I don't have one yet but as long as I get one for Christmas I'll be happy. Hopefully PC World will get more stock in a week or two.

Are there actually any movies available in this format?? I think I may have seen something about T2 special edition available in HD stateside, but is it really worth investing in one atm, even IF you do have a HDTV

I've got over 20 HD-DVDs now. More and more new releases (as well as older releases) are coming out on the format........Batman Begins and Miami vice for instance are great in HD

I get mine from Movietyme.com but I beleive that places like HMV and Virgin are starting to stock them.

It all depends on the source material but most are really good and a VERY noticable difference in PQ.

The 'oldest' HD-DVD I currently own is GoodFellas (1990) and you can easily tell it apart from its DVD release.

They're proving hard to locate at the moment, a lot of consumers are still waiting for their pre-orders to be fulfilled. Rumour has it that new stock shipments are expected later this week so hopefully they'll be a little more accessible by the weekend.
