    Angry MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

I'm trying to get Mastery on some off my weapons but I'm stuck on Bullet Penetration kills with FMJ.

This challenge is a complete joke. 40 BP kills...... it is hard enough trying to get 2 per match using a M4 let alone any when using a sniper rifle.

It is ridiculous for a sniper rifle in the first place. The only time you are going to shoot is if you have a clear shot. You're not going to spray the wall hoping for a lucky kill. And when you have a clear shot, why would you shot the wall to get a bullet penetration kill. It is retarded. FMJ take up an attachment slot as well. I'm not too bothered when using an assault rifle, it just means I don't get a better sight or grenade launcher, but the ACOG scope is invaluable to me on a sniper rifle.

Anyone have any tips to get these type of kills? It is just really annoying.

I would equip the UMP 45 with FMJ and when you see someone behind a wall spray like mad and you will get the kills. Domination maps seem to help with this. I get around 5 - 6 a match. I use a UMP45 with FMJ, cold blooded, ninja and scavenger all at pro levels and you will rack them up

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

It is certainly the slowest of all the weapons achievements to conquer, that's for sure. As you say, normally only a few per match if you are lucky (obviously the built up area maps are best for this). Never attempted it on a sniper rifle, but if you are after keeping your sights as well, why not use the Bling perk to enable two attachments at once?

If you want to use Bling I would go with FMJ and a heartbeat sensor or a thermal scope instead of the ACOG. Then maybe use Cold Blooded and stopping power as your other perks if possible can't remember the loadouts of the perks at present. Essentially either build one where you can hide from UAV, Turrets and Heatbeat sensors or go for an all out damage build and run around the map looking for people in windows, behind walls etc.

Best playing HArdcore modes to get kills with FMJ - i too found it drawn out, feels as thought theyve toned down the 'deep impact' effect on the weapons.

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

Thanks guys, I've given up to be honest.

Past few days I been playing what I like to call suicide Domination which involves me running to a control point while spamming anything that goes boom, 'nade launcher and semtex. Has worked out nicely by Pro'ing out my Danger Close and Scavenger Perks.

Then I thought I might as well Pro up my Commando, Ninja, Scrambler and Marathon perks by running around with a pistol, smg on my back together with Cold Blooded and knifing/ pistoling people in the back. Was pretty fun to be honest. KPD took a giant hit, but whatever.

Also, I think Scrambler perk is bugged. Almost all of my kills for the above tactic would be close range; either knifing or pistolling up close, but kills would very rarely be recorded for the perk upgrade path. Ninja has the same requirement but kills from knifing and pistolling would be recorded no problem. Anyone get the same problem?

I havent bothered with FMJ on sniper rifles for that exact reason, so far I've managed TAR+M4 and now doing ACR.

    edit: mostly using bling, fmj+silencer

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

I have found that the high-rise map is the best for getting penetration kills as there are lots of thin walls and divides.... Scrap Yard is also pretty good.

I was using the Scar, as per usual with FMJ attached.

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

Most success I had was on the map with the stream running through it, the large square building up at the far corner

    Rundown

also Invasion is good for it too (http://www.modernwarfare247.com/multiplayer/maps)

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

I always have Bling on my Intervention class because I use the heartbeat for SnD and I want to get Ext. mags for the callsign title (I'm trying to get all Emblems/Titles.).
I use Bling Pro, Cold Blooded Pro, and Ninja Pro.
So far I've gotten 35/40 bullet penetration kills on maps like Underpass, Highrise, Wasteland, Karachi (the best imo), Scrapyard, and and Sub Base. I usually get an average of 2 per match when I'm trying to get it (aiming a headshot and then walking right or left until they are behind a wall and then shooting.), and 1 every other match when I'm not.
Also the Heartbeat Sensor is helpful for getting it if you know where someone is and they duck behind a wall. It might take two or three shots, but I seem to usually get headshots when I can't see my target.

I take it your mainly a sniper then?

I've worked my way through the assault rifles and now up to ACR, I have all FMJ kills for all assault rifles up to ACR, I find with an assault rifle you get a few more FMJ kills per match.

So yeah it is a slog to get them with sniper rifles unless you mainly go sniper class and spend all your hours with it then it's best just to get on with it and before you know it they will soon add up.

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

I was mainly a sniper for most of an entire prestige. I have 853 kills with it, but, as I said I usually play SnD so it's difficult to get more than two to three kills per round. If I played TDM or Domination I could have gotten it a lot faster than I did.

As a side note; My last kill that got me extended mags was on SnD and I got it by shooting through someones head and shooting the guy behind him. I was pretty amazed by that but it is a better way to get FMJ because the bullet goes through a person easier than it does any other object (other than glass).

    Re: MW2 Bullet Penetration Kills

To be honest dude, the easiest way to get the FMJ Penetration kills (and if you're desperate) is by playing 3rd person cage match and either asking the person politely that will be playing with you to help you get challenges done, or by just inviting a friend once you are in the queue for 3rd person cage match. That way you can just farm kills with your friend having a TI and you constantly killing him.
Only downside is that, that particular game mode has only a 20 kill limit.

But other than that I have my Intervention and Barret challenges completed.
So its fairly easy, you kinda just gotta cheat :/ lol.

shh tho, don't tell anyone, not many people know.
    Keep it a secret.
