Grand Theft has always been a favorite series for me. I love all the games released by them.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V trailer

A few friends that have played this on consoles have all said it is a bit of an anti climax compared to the hype. Basic story, same level of graphics, no real new innovations compared to the last game.

Anyone else got any oppionions on the game now that the "honeymoon" period is over? I still want it on PC regardless as the mods can and will improve any short comings!

I got it on 360 a few months ago, about 1/3 of the way through story mode and not played online.

I'm really enjoying the game so far, there's lots to do although I've found it's not always clear what you have to do next to progress the story, which in my opinion has been quite good so far.

I think it lives up to the trailers, there's so many little things you notice that show how much work and thought has gone in to it.

I think the hardware is limiting it a bit. If you get out of a car and wander just slightly too far, the quite harsh memory cleanup will remove it. But that's always been something I've noticed in the series, even the first game did it. You also notice that it can't hold too many vehicle models in memory at once, so if you are on foot looking for a new one, you'll just see lots of the same (usually slow) model in different colours go by. Draw distance and some of the model details are also casualties of the hardware limitations. But in theory all of those can easily be solved by being run on a beefier PC.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V trailer

GTA V was a big want for me when it first came out, but I said to myself I will wait for the PC release, now I find myself not caring to much. GTA plays more like a movie, once you have done everything there is not much else to do.

It is a shame the game took so long to make and come out just before next gen, I am guessing that other parts of the game like playing as a cop, area take overs or more jobs will be coming soon on the cash cow that is DLC

Re: Grand Theft Auto V trailer

GTA V coming to PC for me is a bit too late for me. I feel like I've seen enough of GTA V to figure it's not gonna do much for me; nevermind the fact that there are tons of open world games out there at the moment that need my attention (watch dogs and sleeping dogs being some of them). Furthermore, I am skeptical about the performance considering how badly GTA 4 ran due to the ridiculous memory requirement at the time. Still pretty cool for those who are excited about this announcement.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V trailer

Will probably wait and pick it up in next summer's Steam sale or something. I figure that if I was really that desperate to play it, I'd have done so by now.

Glad I waited for the pc version instead of going for the ps3 one. the difference is astounding.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V trailer

I better sell my PS3 copy before this is released. This game better be well optimized for the PC when it launches...
