Re: What's your favourite game of all time

Hmmm that really is a tough one... Instead of a fave game of all time I think I can only put a few of my most enjoyable game experiences.

Super Metroid - I still go back and replay this a couple times a year. Still awesome
Half-life 2 -Just an amazing cinematic experience at the time.
    Warhammer: Dawn of War 2
    Mass Effect 2
    Deus Ex 1
    System Shock 2
Knights of the Old Republic 1

And one to add from recently is Tomb Raider as I went in expecting a meh game and couldn't put it down.

Re: What's your favourite game of all time

Bit of a non-answer in that I can't only pick one. But I can narrow it down to a handful. My criteria being something I've invested a lot of time in, and could happily invest more time in.

Any of the Wipeout games, I'd pick Wipeout3 if I was forced. Currently replaying Fusion.
    Gran Turismo 1/2.
Final Fantasy 7/8 - the only RPGs I've found myself able to put up with.
    C&C Red Alert 2
    Sensible Soccer
    Street Fighter Zero 3

If I really had to go for 1 game.. Wipeout 3 SE.

Edit: I loved Portal 2 as well.

    Elite.

I spent far too many hours in my teens hunched over my Commodore 64 trading, fighting pirates, zapping Thargoids and trying not to crash whilst docking.

A fine sentiment. :-) However I can't help wondering what else I might have done with the 10,000+ hours I've spent on gaming over the decades. Become a concert pianist? Cracked the fusion problem? Written that book I've never quite finished? Or at least built a matchstick Tower of London. ;-)

Well, what I meant was to hold true to yourself and whatever it is you want to do in life - not fall into some dogma you have be a certain way because most people are ,or its, " expected ".

Re: What's your favourite game of all time

With all the games I've ever played, is this a tough one.

Being indecisive I'm just going to state that the most memorable games I've played are: Zelda (Ocarina of Time), X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter, Banjo Kazooie, Battlefield 2 & Morrowind.

Yes! Even picturing the art style for that game fills me with nostalgia. That and Cannon Fodder

I was so close to putting Cannon Fodder on my list, but already had Sensible Soccer. That and it was unbelievably difficult towards the end.

Morrowind. Put so many hours into it when it came out and have revisited since.

Wasn't delta force a lot like flashpoint, or am I wrong?

Flashpoint came out shortly after DF, and was more 'technical'. Both featured one hit, one kill, which DF introduced to the FPS market, as well as huge landscapes. DF was less demanding; Flashpoint required a person to behave like a soldier - only working in units etc. No gung ho strategy worked in Flashpoint.

I remember the large number of ex-soldiers who moved over to Flashpoint from DF due to the greater realism.

For me Half Life plus a myriad of mods. My introduction to FPS online multiplayer gaming all those years ago, fantastic game.

Hmm, was Joint Ops and Combined arms later the sequel to DF too? I'm not 100% though.
