What a game... WHAT a game

Ferral gifted me it on PC on Steam... and then Dakky lent it to us for my missus to play on PS3.

It's really very very good.

Excellent cut scene blend to game play, good movement.... excellent skill upgrade choices...

Cant tell you any more.. going back to play it

I think most people enjoyed it too, came high up on Eurogamer's readers' top games.

It was very good IMO but went from:

"I'm a feeble icckle bunny wabbit"
to
"I'm going to gut you with an ice-pick"

a bit too quickly.

That said, if that's the only real criticism I can think of (I don't care that there were no real tombs to raid) then good on the devs!

Funny that it failed to meet internal targets with 'only' 3.6m sold in the first month!

By contrast, I was very disappointed...

The graphics were every bit as amazing as expected... but having played most of the other TRs several times, to me this just seemed like a whole bunch of hand-holding and shooting at stuff. The puzzles took 30 seconds to solve, the Assassins Creed Eagle Vision (sorry, they call it Survivor Sense) was pointless and it felt like there was none of the skill from previous games.

I only ever died on those semi-cutscenes where you have to run across collapsing structures. The online MP version is the standard fare a-la Goldeneye on the N64.

I'm glad I only paid £3 for it on Steam, but feel gutted that I then got it again in the Square Enix surprise deal!

I'm still impressed by the graphics, but I'll not be playing the game again.

Got the Tomb Raider collection for cheap during the Summer Sale buit have yet to play any of them apart from the 1st briefly.
Had the idea of trying to play them through in order, but I just haven't had the desire to play the 1st that much, tempted to just think scrap it and go for this one and hope that I'll still want to play some of the older titles.

I loved the game, despite the interactive cutscenes.

As some games journalist said "the only thing worse than a cutscene is a cutscene where you can lose".
Generally though, I was very impressed - Yes, it did hold your hand a little too much and the tomb raiding bit was reduced to a few optional side quests though, which was a little odd; but I really enjoyed it.

I thought that the game was amazing, it was one of those games that I just had to keep going back to, over and over again until I had completed it.

I was one of those people that encountered a bit of a bug where I got trapped in a section and couldn't move backwards or forwards so ended up having to start again, but luckily it only happened within the first couple of hours of play and the second time round I not only got back to that point faster, I discovered a few 'secrets' along the way which was pretty cool. I certainly know more people that liked it than didn't, even some who said that they didn't want to play a QT driven game actually liked it once the initial stages with QT training parts were over and QT events no longer played such a big role.

It was (surprisingly) my fave game from 2013, went in just expecting another so so reboot but didn't put it down for a couple days until I had 100%'d it. My only complaints about it was the QT events, I would of preferred it without them but the death scenes more than made up for my dislike and that she went from "Oh no *crys* I've killed a dear" to "I'm going to headshot all you mofoes and you will never know I'm coming" but hey small issues with an otherwise outstanding game.

It was a fun game and the hair animation was a nice touch IMHO. Zak,have you got Bioshock Infinite yet??

This was a great game surprisingly, short and easy with a good story. Amazing graphics and gripping story!

Loved the way you see Lara get dirtier, bruised and more scarred as you play through (mentally and literally).

Like Dooms, I didn't like the QT events. Personally it lowered my opinion of the game as those were generally the only parts I had to take multiple attempts to pass. Not skill involved on a keyboard, just luck that it's the "E" or "F" you were expecting. Probably better with a controller but I didn't use one for this game.

This probably explains why the QTEs never bothered me....never thought about keyboard players.
