Some one just starting is gonna need a mouse, k/b, monitor, probably a power bar unless your ballsy. Just to name a normal start up, lots of people will want/need different things. All the little things to start add up for sure.Originally Posted by MrRockliffe

Indeed. I just played Titanfall and Mass Effect on that very OS using Origin - and I'm a complete Noob, so if I can make it work...!!
I have Origin up and running on Win7 64 as well, in fact, I reinstalled it just this weekend.
Another point in the favour of console gaming is that you dont need to be versed in pc tech to get it to work, now in this case I am not referring to anyone on here, rather the people that we play with. Most of the guys on my favourites list on xbox live are fairly clueless about it, but that doesnt mean I dont want to game with them. With a console they have it easy.
On the origin note, I have it installed on Win 7 64

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.
An FPS would seem petty difficult to play on any PC, but then again, it would seem you would have more control over where your aimer goes. Actually that seems really fun, but I'm still a little undecided.
Interesting that people complain about not being able to get games working on PC...
I don't think I've ever had any trouble with a PC, even back in the day when my friends and I swapped dodgy NoCD copies of games around.
I've had the occasional moment where I needed a different version of DirectX or something, but 30 seconds later I had it on there and all was good. About the most trouble I've had was from selecting the wrong sound card or joystick on a Spectrum.
I haven't had many problems, but they've always been big ones. The dead island series just doesn't work for some reason.. Origin is evil and refuses to get bf3 to work (well it's because of punk buster)

I never knew that you could play PC games with an Xbox 360 controller! Can you play any PC game with one?
Pretty much any modern game will be designed around it. Older ones are often fine but might not have great defaults. And if you play a shooter with one we will mostly laugh (though I know several people who do).

Ya it works, but I have had it just stop running games multiple times now. No repair options and it just won't start. O yay I have to re download.
When my psu died. I had to go back to my xbox 360. So i decided to play some demos like State of Decay. Oh man that look so horrible and then i also realized just how loud the Xbox 360 is compared to my rig.
Such bad times.
Talk about missing console gaming, had cravings to play Gears of War so bought a new Xbox 360 with the original Gears!
Or just play it on the PC
