Overwatch - the next new game from Blizzard!

Looks like a mashup of TF2 and BL:

This has the potential to be quite interesting. Whilst it is clearly a rehash of the TF2/BL/DOTA theme, Blizzard have quite a good record of taking an existing format and then improving it and putting its own spin on it. The numbe rof hero classes should increase complexity and coupled with 6 person coop play might make it turn into quite a nice tactical game to play with a group of friends.

Would love to see this game with a dedicated server though. Unfortunately I can't see that happening any time soon.

Seems to be £30 to £45 and will be released next year. Seems pretty ovepriced since TF2 is free and will be 9 years old by the time it is released.

£45 is with a load of skins in, and £30 compares favourably to say BLOPS III, but yeah, F2P would have made me much more likely to pick this up.

Re: Overwatch - the next new game from Blizzard!

Saw this yesterday, looks interesting! I think the price will work - I guess if interest starts to tail off they might do what Valve did with TF2 and make it F2P somewhere down the line, but from their explanations (http://www.polygon.com/2015/11/7/968...ng-model-plans) I can kind of see why they have chosen to not make it F2P at least to begin with.

Im not a Blizzard fanboy, but it looks decent. Seems like it could be the remnants of that FPS MMO they cancelled?

This is exactly what it is, they cancelled the mmo then used assets to make this
