One of the ways these people get the keys is via fake game key requests:

Or even giveaway requests, only to sell them all:

Most of the time it is fine however.

Activision have been horrible with their pricing of their games on Steam.

I just wait for a good sale. With the exception of games that depend entirely on other players' participation, I never was able to justify buying brand new games. Almost 100% of my game purchases are of relatively old games that cost on average less than £2 each. There are no downsides!

Amazon seem to change their prices around 1pm every day as i watched COD Ghosts go from £35 down to £26 when i bought it and then it went a couple of £'s more ( i got nervous about it going up) and got a refund for the extra.

    Re: PC game pricing creep

What annoys me is that ~90% of purchases are for digital copies of the games (last non-collectors edition game I bought a physical copy of was ~2yrs ago).
Since they don't have to pay for packaging and all that bull****, especially when they only include a few files or the steam installer on the disc, the fact that digital copies are the same price as physical pisses me off.

So while it is cheaper for them to distribute it nowadays, they've only gone and increased the cost by £10-20, and then tacking on season passes for an extra £20-50.
