I didn't get in unfortunately (was this weekend the only session)? What did people think? It looked pretty good on the streams I saw. Ugly on console obviously and very Ubi in design but could be fun with friends.

I for one, won't be getting Wildlands. Despite the customisation, the level of it is brilliant.

The game mechanic and game itself just reminds me a cross of Division & Farcry 3.

The vehicles are clunky, the helicopter is like a brick and the gun sounds are meh.

    Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands Beta

I took part in the closed beta, didn't bother with the open beta. Was dead set against purchasing it due to the poor performance and vehicle controls in closed beta, but looking at a lot of reviews now saying that these issues have mostly been improved (although vehicle control still seems a bit sub par).

Tempted to pick this up now, anyone playing it now it's released?

    Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands Beta

Depends on the hardware you're playing it on - I'm on a Fury X and performance is so poor it's not worth me even trying. I can't escape 35FPS regardless of the circumstances, so it's not staying in my library.

Performance has NOT changed a huge amount between Beta and Live. There's about a 10% increase in certain places, especially on NVidia drivers, but the AMD crowd like me are thoroughly ignored. My frames should be practically double what it currently is, realistically.

Gameplay-wise - I wasn't sold on the Beta. The terrible vehicle controls really shredded my immersion, and the AI were hilarious. The latter was relatively forgivable, but I don't want to play a sandbox-y repetitive shooter if I can't even drive in a straight line.

    Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands Beta

I totally agree about ground vehicle controls, it's very poor. I am getting used to the flying helicopters even without yaw control though, but SAM sites are blooming annoying. Everything else I feel is OK, playing on Advanced difficulty and it feels about right, gotta be tactical and silent in order to complete missions.

Odd how you didn't see an improvement since beta, as a fellow AMD user I had terrible performance issues in beta, yet now I get a solid 60 FPS on Very High, about 40-45 on Ultra. Have you tried the latest drivers, 17.3.1?
