B2142 - no rank up
Well, I have earned enough points to get the next rank. But no. I disconnnect from any server and..my points are reset to 51/80 again!! Apparently, a lot of people are getting the same problem. No ranks, unlocks..
That is it. I'm returning it. This is a horrible mess. Spyware, a XP Microsoft patch which can make it crash, now it's not even allowing you to rank properly, which is one of the things which makes it fun.

The same thing happens, however if you were to wait a few hours, when you log back in it'll have all of your stats and you will be promoted.
The game remembers whats gonig on but EA's servers are a bit slow to update.

I thought that too. After a few hours the game shows 'score 115/80'. No rank then, it now showed my score but after the next rank score!

Lots of people are having this problem at the moment, seems to be a bug. Read all about it on the EA forums. Fortunately I'm okon my 7th or so unlock so far
This is EA were talking about, what do you expect, use the same train of thought you do with Microsoft with there OS's.
WAtch the newest one, when there's a service pack release you know its safe to buy it.
give them a break...the stats servers are massivly overloaded (again), they will have it sorted in a few days (as with the BF2 release). I have my first unlock but am waiting for my second..but im confident it will unlock in a few days.
The "spyware" has been taken completely out of context - it just records what ads you look at in game - and currently i see no ads in game..just spaces for them.
A patch that makes it crash..well i dont know of any but even if there is one the odds are that it was released after DICE tested the game..did you install the 1.01 patch? and make sure that BF2142 was not running when you did?
That said..maybe you shoujld return it...gives more space on the servers for the rest of us
all my rank upgrades came through last night, all of a sudden i got about 6 unlocks to choose from !
kept on getting instant upgrades after that.
theres was a note in the game ticker saying they fixed an issue with stats.
