Hey guys, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum or anything - I am new here
I was in a retro mood and found out my old Mega Drive to hook up, but last year I upgraded to a 26" Toshiba 26WLT66 HDTV. First I tried putting it through on RF, and the picture would occasionally lose sync and jump, before quickly regaining. I wouldn't mind this on the odd occasion but it really seems to exacerbate my migraines and it unviewable for anything longer than a few minutes.. So I thought I'd try putting it through scart, and this time I was unable to view a picture whatsoever. Just a black screen... Though when I put it through my VCR, the picture came through in much better quality than RF (obviously) but still jumping just the same.
I can't seem to find anyone else that has trouble maintaining a stable picture from a megadrive on a hdtv. The only thing I can think of is that my hdtv isnt compatible with the horiz/vert frequency rates that the old consoles used to use. But either nobodys bothered reporting it, or nobody that has my tv wants to use a megadrive. Wondering what you guys make of it... The only thing I can think of would be to convert the signal to what my hdtv might expect, but I can imagine that would be expensive.
And as for checking the simple things first, this megadrive works fine on CRTs. ( I havent another HDTV with which to test it )
